How it works

01

Organizations post events

Nonprofits, schools, and community groups publish volunteer opportunities with shift times, locations, and descriptions.

02

Volunteers sign up and contribute

Volunteers browse events by cause and location, sign up for shifts, and show up to make a difference in their community.

03

Karma is earned

Every verified volunteer hour earns Karma — both a lifetime record of contribution and available Karma for eligible local rewards.

04

Rewards flow back into the community

Local businesses offer discounts and perks redeemable with available Karma. Sponsors support events and receive impact data. Recognition and support stay local.

The Karma System

Community service
builds real recognition

Karma is verified community credit earned through volunteering. It recognizes your contribution, builds your long-term community reputation, and can unlock rewards from participating local businesses.

It cannot be purchased, traded, transferred, or cashed out.

  • Lifetime KarmaA permanent record of your verified volunteer contribution. It reflects the impact you have made over time and is never reduced when you redeem rewards.
  • Available KarmaThe portion of your earned Karma that is currently eligible to redeem for participating local rewards.

Karma in practice

Here's how a typical volunteer session works end-to-end.

Sign up for a 2-hour event

You find a beach cleanup near you and sign up for the Saturday morning shift.

Volunteer and get verified

You show up, contribute your 2 hours, and the organizer marks you as attended.

Earn 120 Karma

60 Karma per verified hour. Your Lifetime Karma goes from 0 to 120. Your Available Karma also shows 120.

Redeem 100 Karma for a coffee offer

The Corner Café offers a local reward that requires 100 available Karma. You redeem it on your next visit.

Your record after

Your Available Karma becomes 20, while your Lifetime Karma remains 120. Redeeming rewards never erases your contribution history.

Built on trust and verification

How we keep every part of the network honest.

How hours are verified

Organizers mark attendance after each event. Volunteers can only claim Karma for shifts they were confirmed as attending. No self-reporting of hours.

How organizations are approved

Organizations provide their name, type, and contact details during signup. We review each application before events go live to the volunteer network.

How rewards are redeemed

Volunteers show their available Karma in-app. Businesses confirm the redemption on their end. Only available Karma changes; Lifetime Karma remains as the volunteer's contribution record.

How sponsors get reporting

Every sponsored event generates an impact report: volunteer hours contributed, attendees, verified Karma recognized, and funds utilized. Delivered automatically after the event closes.
